- Our Summer through Fall internship is a six-month, three-days-a-week internship that begins late May/early June and continues until the end of December.
- Our Fall through Spring internship is a seven-month, three-days-a-week internship that begins in September and continues through mid/end of April.
Application Requirements
The Child Life Internship program at Lurie Children’s abides by the deadlines set forth by the Association of Child Life Professionals. As we are currently not offering a Fall 2025 internship, we will be updating our website with when we know of our next available opportunity. Please refer to the Association of Child Life Professionals (ACLP) website for the updated offer and acceptance dates.
Before beginning your application, please review our frequently asked questions (PDF).
We are only accepting the Internship Readiness Common Application. Once complete, your application can be emailed to: [email protected]. To be considered, your application must have an email delivery date no later than 11:59 p.m. (CST) on January 3, 2025. Any applications submitted after this date will NOT be reviewed.
Sending an application is not a guarantee of acceptance. All of these requirements are subject to review by our internship committee. Due to the expectation that we provide students with quality supervision/education during placement, a limited number of students are accepted each term. If an application is accepted, a personal (on-site) interview is required if the applicant lives within 100 miles of Chicago; otherwise, a video/phone interview may be possible. All applicants will be notified of their internship application status no later than January 24, 2025.
